Many of the sheds and boats pictured are no longer intact due to the storms of recent years. The blue boat has now lost its wheelhouse.
Photographs are by Winston Feather, a Master Mariner, with 20 years service in the Merchant Navy, although since 1986 until 2017 he had been mostly occupied running Feathers Picture Framing and Gift Shop/Gallery in Canterbury and helping to bring up his four children. He has a particular passion for Dungeness, having made regular bike rides there from his previous home in Canterbury. It almost feels like being at sea with its big skies and uninterrupted horizons.
Now living in Skipton, North Yorkshire, he is discovering other unique areas, especially in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park.
